Roswell is the one town we cover where the county line moved. It was part of Cobb County until 1932, when it became Fulton — which is within living memory of the families who have been there longest, and which still surprises people who assume that being closer to Marietta than to downtown Atlanta means something about where their case goes.

It does not. Georgia venue follows the defendant's county of residence, and Fulton's county seat is Atlanta. Getting there is its own small lesson in north metro geography. Roswell is 13.8 road miles from the Square and takes about 26 minutes with no traffic. Woodstock is a mile closer at 12.8 and takes 17. The difference is that one route is interstate and the other is Roswell Road, and it is the same reason east Cobb and north Fulton behave like separate markets despite sharing a border. Roswell's own interstate-grade access is GA-400, at exits 6, 7 and 8.
